Close

Close – Walk

by Tobias Zarges & Moritz Eberl (Germany)

Genre: Ambient Adventure & Open World Exploration

A fox is exploring a vast landscape with its inhabitants and places. You may become a part of his quest or experience the game on your own. "Close" is a poetic and atmospheric exploration of yourself and the other one, of being alone and being together.

„Close“ gives the player control over a lone character roaming a snowy open world scenery. The player can explore and interact with this world, without being given a notion of the goals or achievements of the game. The fox, driven by an AI, explores the place autonomously. By interacting with characters and objects the fox gets new insights about the world, developing new plans, abilities and goals to solve quests. The AI becomes the Protagonist of the game while the player is left in the dark about the meaning of most of the events. This challenges him/her to reflect his/her own role within the context, his/her relationship to the fox and the hidden systems of the game.
